House Rules

General Rules

  • Please do not trespass on neighbor’s property. This includes walking through their yards, using their piers, climbing fences, or any other activities on neighboring properties. We have wonderful neighbors so please be considerate of their private property!
  • Please do not park outside of designated areas. (Driveway leading to garage & gravel driveway on NW side of residence)
  • NO SMOKING/VAPING inside any area of the house. Please smoke only in the designated area next to the gazebo. Any violation will result in a cleaning fee.
  • Pets are not allowed. If you have a service animal, we ask that you do not leave the animal unattended and any mess created by the animal be cleaned prior to your departure!
  • Please do not exceed the noise threshold of 85 Decibels (rule of thumb-quieter than a lawnmower). We will be monitoring noise levels of the property through the Noise Aware app. If you exceed the noise threshold, you will be notified with a warning and any further violations may result in termination of the rental agreement.
  • Please note that there are several security cameras present on the property that are always on and recording for the safety of our guests and the property
  • Please do not leave children unattended outside or on balconies! The property has large lakefront access and a pool which may be dangerous for children without adult supervision.
  • Please do not allow children under the age of 6 to use the upper bunk of the bunk beds without adult supervision, and please limit the number of children on top bunk to one child. Prior to use, please ensure that ladder, guardrail, and all other components are in their proper positions free from damage.
  • Please adhere to all public notices regarding parking, construction, and any other development activities conducted by the Village of Fox Lake
  • Please dispose of any garbage in trash bins (green) and recyclables in the recycling bins (blue) located on south side of residence next to garage and please do not leave any garbage outside. If bins are full, please contact us so we can accomodate!
  • Please do not rearrange furniture. This causes more work for our cleaning crew who work on very tight schedules!
  • Please report unintentional damages to the property or appliances immediately so we can get it fixed for you ASAP!
  • Please do not eat outside of established areas and no food or drinks in bedrooms. We don’t want any unexpected guests joining you during your stay!
  • Please do not roll luggage on wheels inside the property. We ask that you carry your luggage once inside the house.
  • Please do not wear shoes while inside the property. We want to ensure the house stays clean and sanitized for all future guests.
  • Please adhere to the Village of Fox Lake quiet hours: Monday-Friday: 10:00 PM-8:00 AM Saturday & Sunday: 11:00 PM-8:00 AM

Pool Rules

  • Please do not run near swimming pool.
  • Please do not dive in any part of swimming pool.
  • Children should not use swimming pool without adult supervision.
  • No animals or pets allowed in or around swimming pool please.
  • All persons using pool do so at their own risk. Owners and management are not responsible for accident or injuries.
  • If coming from the lake, please shower before entering swimming pool.
  • Please do not use glass containers or cups while swimming please.
  • If you feel sick, or have a skin, eye, ear, or nasal infection, please refrain from using swimming pool please.
  • First aid kit is located next to the grill.
  • Please use the private pier in the backyard for boating. Please do not use our neighbor’s piers. The gravel driveway can be used as storage for your trailer and boat.
  • All boats used on the Chain O’Lakes must contain the Fox Waterway Agency sticker, which can be purchased here, https://www.foxwaterway.com/fwa-stickers/
  • When two boats are approaching each other "head to head" or so nearly as to involve risk of collision, each boat shall bear to the right and pass the other boat on its left side.
  • When boats are approaching each other obliquely or at right angles, the boat approaching on the right has the right-of-way.
  • No person shall operate a motorboat so as to approach or pass another boat in such a manner as to create a hazardous wake or wash.
  • No person shall operate a powerboat within the restricted area of the shoreline marked by the restricted area marker buoy (200 feet) above a slow-no-wake speed.
  • Every boat propelled by an engine or motor shall be equipped with a muffler which is so constructed and kept in constant operation that it prevents excessive or unusual noise at all times while the engine is in operation.
